Making a claim

Insurance is a promise, a promise to get you back to where you were before something sudden and unforeseeable happened.  When claims happen, the brokers at Lundgren & Young are here for you to help you the claims process.

What to do if you have a claim:

If the worst happens and you need to make a claim, we are here to help!  Here’s what to do:

Gather as much information as you can. Take photos, if it is an auto claim, ensure you have the other drivers vehicle, drivers license and insurance information, gather any original documents or receipts that would be applicable, if it is an accident, provide witness information and a police report if anyone is injured or the damage is more than $2000. Try to mitigate any further loss – move your vehicle out of the way (if safe to do so), cover a hole in your roof, call a plumber etc.

Call your broker.  We are here to help you through your claims process and to counsel you to determine if it is worthwhile to make a claim at all!  We are your advocate and will work with you and your insurer to ensure your claim is resolved as quickly and smoothly as possible.

We will submit your claim to the insurance company on your behalf. You may choose to go directly to the insurer to make your claim if you like, but please also let us know.

The insurer will open your claims, assign an adjuster who will work with you to determine the value of your claim, the potential settlement and any repairs that may be required.

If your claim is not settled satisfactorily, we are here to help ease communications between you and the insurer to find the best solution for settlement.
